this big shiny building sits right opposite the fraknston train station, and i've probably seen it from the side a thousand times. the 1st time i saw it front on i just had to take it's photo.

mr supermarket
so this guy at the coles checkout, adam, let me take his photo. i asked, promise. super nice supermaket guy. then the supermaket security guard was like, "you can't take photos in here".
when questioned as to why, he said that it was because if someone slipped or tripped on something, they'd have photographic evidence against the store.
if you ask me that sounds like good reason to take more photos.

portrait of a self portrait
so i'm shooting a bit with a shiny new olympus e-p1, and thought i'd use it to shoot the oldest camera in my collection, the nikon ftn.
and yes that's me in the viewfinder, hence the title, "portrait of a portrait."

bokeh and nothing but the bokeh
bokeh is what photographers call the parts of a photo that are blurred completely out of focus. sometimes that's the entire photo.
looking straight up
this was actually a tricky shot to get, given that it was actually raining at the time and whenever i looked up, the lens would be filling with rain drops.
